What advice would you give to a brand to help make their influencer campaign as successful as possible?
Trust the influencer to know what will work best with their audience. If you restrict them too much on the creative side of things, your sponsored post will receive half the reach and engagement.
Your top 3 tips on creating a fashion photograph
1. Be comfortable with your outfit. Don’t feel like you need to wear certain type of clothes because a brand wants you to. You know what suits your body best! And there’s nothing worse than heading out in an outfit that makes you feel less than average. I believe so much confidence can come from an outfit you feel comfortable in – whether that’s jeans & a tee or a sequin onesie. You do you babe.
2. Be comfortable with your photographer. It makes SUCH a difference when you work with someone who you can trust, who can give you direction and who can shout “yassss queen” when you rock up looking your best. For these reasons I often shoot with my girlfriends because they bring out the best in me!
3. Now get uncomfortable. The magic happens outside of your comfort zone. When you’re feeling confident with your outfit and photographer, then there is room to do creative experiments like switching up your posing, the places where you photograph, the props you use or the types of filters you use.
Tell us about ‘Creative Gal Gang’.
Creative Gal Gang is a support network I founded for females in the blogging & creative industry. It came about when I first moved to London (from Australia) and I found it incredibly daunting to have to start again in a new city and make contacts when I knew absolutely no-one. I wanted to create a safe place where any girl could seek advice/help, find someone to photograph with and make friends. We aim to break down the barriers between bloggers, whether you have 1000 followers or 300,000, we are all on the same journey. I’ve never been in a group where everyone is so eager and happy to help each other, I’m so proud of what we’ve built and I can’t wait to see it grow. To me it marks a shift in my Instagram from covering just fashion to now covering travel. It represents my growth and getting out of my comfort zone (I mean I did have to wake up at 4am to capture this image, talk about uncomfortable…).

What are the biggest challenges of being an influencer?
Constantly having to prove your worth and being asked to work for free. I’ve never been asked to work for free as a Graphic Designer, so it really shocks me when people ask an influencer to work for free. When you work with an influencer you are getting a Creative Director, Stylist, Model, Hair & Makeup Artist, Photographer & Retoucher for the price of one, now talk about a bloody bargain!
