How Heineken reached Gen Z with creators, an event and TikTok

How Heineken engineered a creator-led launch for Heineken Silver, 66 creators, one Warehouse Party, TikTok and Reels, to reach Gen Z and beat its benchmarks.

How Heineken reached Gen Z with creators, an event and TikTok

Heineken partnered with Vamp to put Heineken Silver in front of Gen Z, and engineered a creator programme that beat its benchmarks in 24 hours.

To launch Heineken Silver to a Gen Z audience, Heineken didn’t run a broad awareness campaign. It built a focused, creator-led system around a single product, a single event and the two platforms that audience actually lives on: TikTok and Instagram Reels. Vamp designed and ran the programme, 66 creators, one immersive Warehouse Party, near-total creative freedom, and the content earned a 10.8% engagement rate off the back of a single night.

The challenge: how do you launch a beer to a generation that tunes out advertising?

Gen Z doesn’t respond to product launches that look like product launches. They respond to experiences, and they share the ones worth sharing, on TikTok and Instagram, in their own words.

Heineken’s brief was precise: introduce the “Unexpectedly Smooth” experience of Heineken Silver to Gen Z through engaging Instagram Reels and TikToks, captured live at the Heineken Silver Warehouse Party. The narrow focus was deliberate. One product, one audience, one cultural moment, not a scattergun awareness push.

The shift: from broadcasting a message to building a content system

Most brands would have treated this as a campaign, a burst of paid reach pointed at a demographic. Heineken treated it as a system.

The insight was behavioural. Gen Z has an appetite for unique experiences and an instinct to share them on their favourite channels. So rather than choosing between an event and social content, Heineken combined the two behaviours into one mechanism: an experience designed to be lived, and a creator ecosystem designed to distribute it. The party was the content engine; the creators were the distribution.

What we did: 66 creators, one event, deliberate creative freedom

Vamp designed and ran the creator side of the programme. We briefed 66 relevant creators in parallel, invited them to the immersive Warehouse Party, and asked them to share their favourite moments, with some creators asked to bring the “Unexpectedly Smooth” experience of Heineken Silver to life.

The deliberate decision was to keep the brief loose. We didn’t dictate aesthetic or script the messaging. Giving creators the freedom to actually enjoy the event, and document it in their own voice, produced a large and genuinely diverse set of assets, and, more importantly, content that read as authentic rather than advertised. That authenticity is what drove the numbers.

The outcome: benchmark-beating results from a single night

Precise targeting, one demographic, one product, the right platforms and formats, produced strong organic results. The figures below cover just 24 hours and a single event, which is the point: focus on exactly who you’re reaching, and make strategic platform and format decisions to match, and the content does the rest.

What’s next: from one event to always-on influence

A single night proved the model. The harder, more valuable work is turning a standout activation into an always-on system, where creator relationships compound, content keeps performing, and influence becomes infrastructure rather than a one-off spike.

That’s the work we do. Vamp is a tech-enabled influencer marketing agency: we design creator-led growth systems and run them, so brands like Heineken turn attention into measurable, repeatable performance. Talk to us.

FAQs

What was the Heineken Silver creator campaign?

A creator-led launch programme built to introduce Heineken Silver to a Gen Z audience. Heineken and Vamp briefed 66 creators around the Heineken Silver Warehouse Party and asked them to capture the “Unexpectedly Smooth” experience in their own TikToks and Instagram Reels.

How many creators did Heineken work with, and what were the results?

Heineken worked with 66 creators, who produced 119 pieces of content reaching an audience of 1.4m. In 24 hours, the activation drove 245k impressions, 238.5k reach, 8.1k engagements and a 10.8% engagement rate.

Why did the campaign use creative freedom rather than a strict brief?

Because Gen Z rewards authenticity. By keeping the brief loose and letting creators document the event in their own voice, Heineken earned a diverse, platform-native set of assets that read as genuine experience rather than advertising, which is what drove the engagement.
